Perfume capital of Arabia, birthplace of the current Sultan Qaboos and the first big free-trade zone of Oman – welcome to the city of Salalah.

In the morning you will head to at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat; this is one of the biggest mosques in the world. Its construction took six years (1995-2001), while the production of its 21-tonn carpet that covers an area of 4,343 square meters took four years. Another feature of the interior design is the 14-meter-tall chandelier above the praying hall of the mosque. Then you will proceed to the Al Baleed Archeological Park inscribed to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city of Al Baleed was founded in the 11th century and soon turned into the frankincense trade center. There is the Salalah Museum close to the site; it has many artifacts of that period on display. You will then pass by the Palace of the Sultan and proceed to the Haffa Souk, where you can find the finest gold and silver ware, as well as food and handicraft. On the way back you will drive through beautiful fruit plantations and stop at one of the numerous stalls to try coconut milk from the nut or any other exotic fruits. The tour in the saloon car or minibus includes the entrance fees.
