Get ready to travel to the northern Omani region of Batinah. The coastal town of Barka will be your first stopover. Here you will visit the four-towered Bait Na'aman Fort built in the 17th century by Imam Bil'arab bin Sultan. This small town is renowned for its fresh fish and delicious halva. Another interesting fortress located in approximately 120 kilometers from Muscat is the Nakhal Fort. It was built in pre-Islamic era, refurbished in the 17th century and extended in 1834. In 2003 Prince Charles visited the fort that underwent full renovation in 1990. There are many hot spring around the site, which nourish local bathhouse and farmlands. You will then drive to spectacular gorges of Wadi Bani Awf and Wadi Sahtan, where you can picnic and have a little rest before returning to Muscat. The tour by 4x4 vehicle includes all entrance fees and picnic.
