Once you are in Muscat, do not miss the chance to explore this exotic city of 2,000-year history. Visit one of the world's biggest mosques and Portuguese forts, private museum of Zubair Family and the Mutrah Souk.

Start your tour at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the biggest mosques in the world. Its construction took six years (1995-2001), while the production of its 21-tonn carpet that covers an area of 4,343 square meters took four years. Another feature of the interior design is the 14-meter-tall chandelier above the praying hall of the mosque. You will then pass the diplomatic quarter on your way to Old Muscat with its brightly coloured Al Alam Palace built two centuries ago. It is surrounded by Al Mirani and Al Jalali Forts constructed in the 16th century by the Portuguese. From here you will move to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, which opened its doors for visitors in 1995. Here you can find an extensive collection of ancient weapons and costumes owned by Zubair family. At the end of the day you surely will go to the Mutrah Souk, one of the oldest marketplaces in Arab world. Explore real Oman with its pottery, shisha pipes, khanjars, perfumes, sweets, spices and herbs. The tour in a saloon car or minibus includes entrance fees.
