Summary

Day 1 (Luxor – El Minya)
Be ready for an early pick-up as your six-hour-long travel starts at 06:00 am. Once you arrive in Minya, you will be taken for a city tour that includes the visit to the Great Plain – the place, where King Akhenaton got inspired to building his new city with population of 20,000. Before returning to your hotel you will head to one of the local restaurants to have lunch. The evening is at your disposal. Overnight in El Minya.
 
Day 2 (El Minya – Luxor)
In the morning you will travel around 20 kilometers southwards, where the ancient Egyptian cemetery of Beni Hassan with tombs dating back to the Old and Middle Kingdoms is situated. Here you will visit the Tomb of Bakhet (the Great Chief of the Oryx Nome), the Tomb of Khnumhotep (the official under Amenemhat III of the 12th Dynasty) and the Tomb of Khety (a governor of the 11th Dynasty). You will then move to the north of the cemetery. Have your lunch at a local restaurant and start driving back to your hotel in Luxor.

Welcome to Cairo! At the airport, our representative will greet you and provide assistance with airport procedures. You will be comfortably transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a free evening. Overnight at your Hotel.(No meals included today)

Day 2 (Cairo - Pyramids and Museum)

The Great Pyramid at Giza. It was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. Our expert guide will accompany you to the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, and then to Saqqara to witness the first pyramid of them all, the 2648 BC-completed Step Pyramid of Djoser. Today you will also stand in communion with the magnificent treasures of the Egyptian Museum including Tutankhamun fabulously famous Gold Mask. Tonight we take the sleeper train to Aswan. (B,D)

Arrive to Aswan where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Today you take a short ferry across the Nile to Agilika Island, Philae Temple, a beautiful dedication to the goddess Isis. Marvel at Aswan dams the Old and the High, and end the afternoon on a traditional felucca. You will sail to tusk-shaped Elephantine Island and gloriously botanical Kitchener Island. This evening there’s time to explore Aswan renowned markets. Overnight at your Hotel.(B)

Day 4 (Aswan - Abu Simbel – Aswan)

Early morning optional tour to Abu Simbel by road. Arrive and enjoy your guided tour of the Temples of Abu Simbel with free time. For those not doing the optional tour, there are the Nubian Museum and markets to explore. Return back to Aswan to be welcomed aboard your felucca sailboat. We start sailing towards Kom Ombo. (B,L,D)

The entire day is spent on-board the felucca to relax and unwind as the waters of the Nile guide us to our next destination. (B,L,D)

Day 6 (Kom Ombo and Edfu - Luxor)

After breakfast on-board, we bid farewell to our traditional sailboat and visit Kom Ombo temple, followed by Edfu temple. We then continue north towards Luxor. In the evening we visit the beautiful Luxor Temple. (B)

It will be an early start to avoid the heat of the Nile West bank. As you enter the Valleys of the Kings and Queens, you will pass Deir El Madina, Madinet Habou and the Colossi of Memnon. Visit the colonnaded temple that was uniquely dedicated to a queen Queen Hatshepsut. Return to the East bank to visit the enormous Karnak Temple before heading to the train station for your train trip to Cairo (B,D)

In the morning we arrive back in Cairo and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free. There are a number of optional tours to fill up the day. The City tour of Islamic and Coptic Cairo, a full day trip to Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales) and a full day trip to Alexandria. (B)

After breakfast we drive to Dahab via the Sinai peninsula. Once we arrive, the rest of the day is free, whether spent at the hotel pool or to explore the town. (B)

The day is spent at leisure. Dahab is a treasure with optional activities that include diving, snorkeling, as well as a trip up Mount Sinai. Eating out is also one of those exciting activities when in Dahab. (B)

Day 12 (Dahab to Taba - Jordan)

In the morning we drive to the Red Sea town of Taba to cross through into Jordan via ferry. (Or overland via Eilat). Once in Aqaba, we visit the ancient Fort and then a quick drive towards Wadi Rum - displaying spectacular cliffs, sand dunes and rock formations. We are served a Bedouin lunch and we overnight in a Bedouin camp. (B,L,D)

As we travel north this morning, we approach the ruined Crusader castle of Shobak, which is on top of a rocky hill. Little Petra is our afternoon visit destination. The name explains what it is, it is a smaller representation of the World Heritage Site you will see tomorrow. In the evening there is an optional tour to see Petra by candle light. (B)

Today you should wear good walking shoes! To discover this ancient attraction you will take a horse back ride through the Siq, the only access to this city carved out of the Rose Colored Rock, you will visit the Treasury, Theatre Tombs, Hall of Justice and Palaces. Climb up to the High Place of Sacrifice for great views of the Jordan Valley. Overnight at your Hotel. (B,L)

After breakfast we take a scenic drive north up the King’s Highway. We pass through small villages, farmland and groves. En-route we pass the crusader castle at Kerak and stop to see the ancient Roman mosaics at Madaba as well as the churches at the top of Mt. Nebo, from where Moses was shown the Promised Land. We then arrive at the Dead Sea where you can float and swim in its unique salty waters before we return to Amman for our last night in Jordan.

Transfer to the Amman airport for your final departure flight. (B)
