Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and drive you to Cairo International Airport, where from you will fly to Luxor. Lady Egypt Tours guide will meet you in Luxor Airport and take you to the Karnak Temple Complex, a vast area of temples, chapels, pylons and the Great Temple of Amun. This large open-air museum was once named Ipet-isut, which means "the most selected of places". Its construction began in the Middle Kingdom (2000-1700 BC), though the majority of the existing buildings date back to the New Kingdom (1500-1000 BC). The complex is housing the Great Hypostyle Hall with its giant 134 columns which are 23 meters in height and 15 meters in circumference! You will have your lunch before heading to the sandstone Luxor Temple built by Amenhotep III and completed by Tutankhamun. Some additions were made by Ramses II. Once your excursion is finished, you will be taken to hotel, where you can spend your free evening and the night. (L)
After breakfast your guide will escort you to the West Bank. Where you will visit the Colossi of Memnon and then head to the Valley of the Kings, which consists of numerous tombs and chambers. From here you will move to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in the Valley of the Queens. You will then have your lunch at a local restaurant. Now you can take a thrilling and quixotic felucca ride to the Banana Island. Late in the evening you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo and then taken to your hotel by a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. (B & L)
