In the morning our guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Citadel of Saladin erected on the Mokattam Hill between 1176 and 1183 and fortified in order to protect it from the Crusaders. In 1828-1848 within the walls of the citadel was built an Ottoman mosque, which today is widely known as the Mosque of Mohammed Ali. The colorful Khan El Khalili Souk will be your next stop. The lunch will be served at a local restaurant before heading to Coptic Cairo. Your guide will escort you to El Muallaqa, the Hanging Church, built into the walls of the Roman fortress of Babylon. You will then proceed to 19-century Ben Ezra SynagogueSaint Barbara Church and Abu Serga Church. After the excursion you will be taken back to your hotel in Cairo. (L)
