The Taj Mahal city of Agra is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Though Agra's history is largely recognised with Mughal Empire, the place was established much before it and has associations since Mahabharat period and Mahirshi Angira in 1000 BC. Bus services are run by the Agra Municipal Corporation. Other transit methods include rickshaws and auto rickshaws. Tempos take around 6 people simultaneously and work out to be the most economical and practical. Polluting vehicles are not allowed near the Tāj Mahal which means one needs to take electric autos or Tanga from a few kilometres outside the Tāj Mahal. Tempos have been largely replaced by three wheeled auto-rikshaws which run on compressed natural gas. Blaring Horns and hurry of people at road may give you headache.
