Day 1:
Cairo (no meals)
Arrive at Cairo Airport where our representative will meet and assist you through customs and then you claim your baggage. You will be transferred to your selected hotel for a free evening. Overnight at your Hotel.
Day 2:
Cairo – Aswan (B D)
Today you will be transported back to the time of the ancient Egyptians. Our friendly guide will accompany you to the awe-inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza and then onwards to Sakkara to see the first pyramid ever built - the Step Pyramid of Zosser. Later that evening you will be transferred to board the overnight sleeper train to Aswan and enjoy dinner and breakfast in your own compartment. Overnight Sleeper Train.
Day 3:
Aswan (B)
Arrive in Aswan where you will be met and transferred to your selected Hotel. Your afternoon tour starts at the High Dam and its huge lake then take a short ferry ride to the Romantic and Majestic Philae Temple. Tonight you can explore the many bazaars and small streets of Aswan or enjoy dinner on one of the many floating restaurants along the Nile. Overnight at your Hotel.
Day 4:
Aswan – Nile cruise (B L D)
Optional tour to Abu Simbel
Morning excursion on a traditional felucca to visit Elephantine and Kitchner Island’s. Transfer to your Nile cruise boat. Overnight Cruise Boat.
Day 5:
Nile cruise (B L D)
After enjoying your breakfast while cruising down the Nile, visit the Greco Roman Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to the two gods Sobek the crocodile God and Harveris the Sun God. Continue sailing to visit Edfu Temple - the best-preserved and second largest Temple in Egypt. Overnight Cruise Boat.
Day 6:
Nile cruise (B L D)
Morning tour to Edfu Temple by horse and carriage. Continue sailing towards Luxor enjoying free time and lunch. Your afternoon tour is to the East Bank of Luxor. Entry is down the avenue of Ram Headed Sphinx to reach the Monumental Temple of Karnak and then continue onto Luxor Temple. A free evening to enjoy this vibrant and fascinating city. Overnight Nile Cruise.
Day 7:
Luxor – Cairo (B D)
After an early morning start you cross over to the West Bank of Luxor where the Valley of the Kings & Queens, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple and the Colossi of Memnon awaits you. The afternoon is free to relax or for the energetic perhaps take a visit to the Luxor Museum. Later that evening you will board the overnight sleeper train to return to Cairo. Day 8:
Cairo (B)
Arrive in Cairo where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After freshening up you will enjoy the legendary treasures of the Egyptian Museum. Take a look at some of the most exquisite and ancient artefacts and statues in history. Then see the Islamic areas of Cairo including the Citadel of Saladdin - boasting the famous Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Then onto the Coptic area of Cairo where the Romans constructed the fortress of Babylon which is built over the ruins of two towers of the fortress the church of St Mary or more commonly know as the Hanging Church, followed by St Sergius which is said to be the resting place for the holy family. Overnight at your Hotel.
Day 9:
Cairo (B)
Transfer to the Cairo Airport for your departure flight.
Possibility for the cruise boat to be from Luxor – Aswan 4 Nights.
