For centuries Egypt has captured the imagination and souls of travelers from around the world. It is not difficult to understand why holding one of the seven ancient wonders of the world, the Great Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza. Cairo can be described as a city of contrasts where mud-brick villages stand beside Pharaonic ruins that are surrounded by buildings of modern architecture. Donkey drawn carts merge with city traffic blending the old and the new which is Cairo of today but at the same time ancient history and beauty come together.

Further south along the Nile is the city of Aswan that developed as a result of the High Dam. Lake Nasser is on one side of the dam, which is home to Abu Simbel (the gigantic Temples of King Ramses II and Nefertari) while the Nile river on the other side provides life and agriculture to its settlers. It is a special city with a great vibe enhanced by the friendliness of the people as you explore the streets and the markets.

Some Egyptians' lives and lifestyles have remained very similar to that of their forefathers. A trip on board a felucca is a great way to come to appreciate their way of life. You can relax on board the felucca and watch the villages along the river banks pass by and hear the sounds of water buffalo, donkeys, and children shouting "Hello... hello…" until they fade into the distance.

From one way of life to another, its time to visit Edfu, a lively town offering you a chance to see Edfu Temple, which is considered to be the best preserved and is the second largest Temple built in Egypt.

Moving further north, it's time to explore what used to be the ancient city of Thebes, now known as Luxor truly a city of classical Pharaonic culture, which relies completely on tourism, however you will feel like you are walking through history as it is in fact an open and living museum. Awake to the sunrise on the East bank, considered the city of the living and explore the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. Later, as the sun sets on the West Bank, shadows will be cast on the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and Hatchsepsut Temple, known by the Pharaohs as the city of the dead.

As we travel further east we enter the continent of Asia, destination Dahab, South Sinai. Walk along the main beach lined with many restaurants decorated Bedouin-style and listen to the beats of your favorite music while you absorb the mountainous landscapes and breathtaking sunsets of the Sinai. Explore the unspoiled waters of the Red sea which is a diver's dream and if you are not a diver maybe you will become one or you may choose to enjoy the coral reefs by snorkeling.
